Falling Asleep In The Wish Fulfilled

Neville Goddard: Falling Asleep In The Wish Fulfilled

Neville taught sleep as a sacred threshold. The final state of the day matters because consciousness carries that inner reality into rest.

The Wish Fulfilled Is The End, Not The Hope

To fall asleep in the wish fulfilled, you must move beyond hoping. Hope can still contain distance. It may say, "I want this to happen," or "Maybe it will happen." The wish fulfilled says, "It is done." It is the inner condition that would be natural after the desire is complete.

If the desire is love, the wish fulfilled may be the peace of being loved and chosen. If the desire is money, it may be the relief of supply and the ease of having enough. If the desire is health, it may be the quiet normalness of the body restored. If the desire is work, it may be the settled feeling of success already established.

Before sleep, do not carry the problem into the bed as the final authority. Let the end have the final word. You are not trying to solve the route at night. You are accepting the reality of the fulfilled desire within consciousness.

The wish fulfilled does not need a long explanation. It needs the feeling that the matter is already settled.

Create A Short Nightly Ending

A nightly ending is the simple inner moment you return to before sleep. It can be an imaginal scene, a sentence, a feeling, or a revised version of the day. Keep it short enough that you can carry it into drowsiness without strain.

For a relationship desire, the nightly ending might be hearing, "I love being with you," and feeling secure. For money, it might be seeing the payment confirmed and feeling relief. For health, it might be hearing good news and feeling the body relax. For work, it might be hearing congratulations and feeling established.

The nightly ending should imply completion. It should not be a scene of trying, waiting, explaining or checking. Choose the moment after the result. Let it be ordinary enough to feel real.

When the same ending is repeated over time, it can become familiar. The body begins to associate sleep with the fulfilled state instead of the old worry.

Revise The Day Before You Sleep

Sometimes the day leaves strong impressions that make it difficult to sleep in fulfillment. A tense conversation, worry, disappointment, bill, symptom, silence or mistake may keep pulling attention back to the old state. Neville's Revision is the way to correct this before sleep.

Review the day lightly and choose the moment that still feels unfinished. Change it in imagination. Hear the conversation end kindly. See the money settled. Feel the body calm. Hear the good news. Let the work result be successful. Then carry the revised state into sleep.

This keeps the night from becoming a place where the day is repeated in fear. You are not required to sleep in the version life handed you. You can give consciousness the version that belongs to the fulfilled state.

Revision and falling asleep in the wish fulfilled work beautifully together. Revision clears the old impression. The wish fulfilled becomes the final one.

Use Feeling Instead Of Mental Effort

At bedtime, mental effort can keep you awake. Neville's method is not to wrestle with the mind. It is to enter the feeling of fulfillment. A feeling can be quieter than thought. It can be relief, peace, safety, gratitude, love, freedom or normalness.

If the mind wants to analyze, come back to the feeling. What would be settled if the wish were fulfilled? What would your body feel? What would no longer be urgent? Let the answer be felt rather than explained.

You may use a phrase to open the feeling: "It is done." "Thank you." "All is well." "I am loved." "I am supplied." "I am whole." "I am established." The words are useful only if they lead into the state. Once the feeling is present, rest there.

The goal is not to stay awake proving that the technique is working. The goal is to fall asleep from the end.

Choose The Final Thought Carefully

The final thought of the day does not need to be complicated. It should be faithful to the end. A final thought might be a sentence, a small scene, a feeling of relief, or the quiet knowing that the matter is done. Choose something you can return to easily as sleep comes.

If the mind is tired, use fewer words. "Thank you" can carry completion. "It is done" can carry certainty. "All is well" can carry peace. The words should not be repeated as a task. They should open the fulfilled state.

When the final thought is chosen deliberately, bedtime becomes less vulnerable to whatever the day left behind. You are giving consciousness a chosen ending.

When Worry Appears At Night

Night can make worry feel louder because the day is quiet and there are fewer distractions. Neville's answer is not to fear the worry. Return to the fulfilled state. If worry speaks, answer with the end. If the body tightens, soften into the feeling that the matter is settled. If the old scene returns, revise it.

Do not turn bedtime into a battle. Fighting worry can keep attention on it. Choose one small fulfilled impression and return to it gently. The scene can be as simple as hearing good news, feeling a hand in yours, seeing a confirmation, or resting in the words "It is done."

If you wake during the night, use the same practice. Return to the fulfilled feeling before falling asleep again. Each return gives consciousness the end instead of the old fear.

If You Wake During The Night

Waking during the night can become another opportunity to choose the state. Instead of immediately continuing the old worry, return to the wish fulfilled. The room is quiet, the body is already near sleep, and imagination can be entered gently.

Use the same short ending you chose before sleep. Hear the words, feel the relief, or enter the scene for a few seconds. Then let yourself drift again. Do not turn the waking into analysis. Let it become another return to fulfillment.

This can make the practice feel kinder. You do not need one perfect attempt at bedtime. Each return during the night can carry the same assumption.

Falling Asleep In Love, Money, Health And Work

For love, fall asleep as the one who is loved now. Let the final feeling be security, tenderness, commitment or peaceful connection. Hear loving words or simply rest in being chosen.

For money, fall asleep as the one who is supplied now. Let the final feeling be relief, ease, paid obligations, steady receiving or financial breathing room. The night should not be given to lack as identity.

For health, fall asleep as the one who is whole now. Let the final feeling be normal function, peaceful sleep, good news, calm breathing or the body at ease. Sleep in the state of restoration.

For work, fall asleep as the one whose success is established now. Hear praise, receive the offer, finish the project, or feel the quiet authority of belonging in the work.

Love

End the day as loved, chosen and secure.

Money

End the day in supply, ease and relief.

Health

End the day in wholeness and calm function.

Work

End the day as established and successful.

The Morning After

When you wake, do not immediately hand the desire back to the old state. Remember the state you slept in. Let the morning begin from the same fulfilled identity. This does not need to take long. A few seconds of remembering can keep the end alive.

If the old world looks the same, do not make that the first conclusion of the day. Return to the end. The bridge of incidents may still be unfolding. The practice is to let the fulfilled state remain your inner home.

The night and morning can support each other. Sleep in the end, then wake from the end. This gives the state continuity.

Keep Bedtime Gentle

Bedtime should not become another pressure. Neville's method is exact, but it does not require harshness. If you are tired, keep the practice simple. If the mind is busy, use one sentence. If the body is restless, return to the feeling of relief rather than trying to force a perfect scene.

A gentle practice is easier to repeat. You are building a nightly habit of ending in the fulfilled state. The mood of the practice should support sleep, not make sleep feel like a test.

Let the end feel like rest. The wish fulfilled is not another demand. It is the state where the desire is settled and you can finally sleep from peace.

A Nightly Practice For The Wish Fulfilled

Use this practice when you want bedtime to become a steady Neville discipline.

1. Settle The Body

Let the day quiet down and allow the body to become still.

2. Revise The Day

Change any strong moment that does not match the fulfilled state.

3. Choose The End

Bring in one scene, phrase or feeling that implies completion.

4. Feel It As Real

Let relief, love, supply, health or success be present now.

5. Drop The Effort

Rest in the state instead of trying to force the mind.

6. Sleep From Fulfillment

Let sleep overtake you while the wish fulfilled is the final impression.

Where To Study Sleep And The Wish Fulfilled

Study this practice beside SATS, feeling and Revision. SATS explains the drowsy state. Feeling explains the inward reality of the end. Revision helps correct the impressions of the day before sleep.

Feeling Is the Secret is essential for understanding why the final feeling matters. The Power of Awareness explains assumption and state. Neville's lectures show how often he returned to sleep, assumption and the end as practical parts of the Law.
